Competition was steep, but only one team could take home the challenge cup. Congratulations to the RS&H, Inc. team for their first-place win! The RS&H, Inc. team consisted of Brent Wilkins, Chris Bradbeer, Keaton Vandersteen, and Britton Scott. FTBA President, Ananth Prasad along with Augusto Salles from Dobbs Equipment LLC presented the Challenge Cup trophy to the winners following lunch. The trophy will be proudly housed at the RS&H office until it is time to compete again.

Coming in second was the Vulcan Materials Company team (Zach Olson, Andy Wilkerson, Richard Colyer, and Scott Hossenlopp). Superior Construction Company’s team (Austin Gross, Toby Mazzoni, Peter Brunner, and Ryan Hamrick) took home the third-place prize. We also had two individual awards that were presented. The winner of the Closest to the Pin contest was Chad Hastings from Alta Equipment Company and the Longest Drive winner was Zach Olson from Vulcan Materials Company.

We appreciate everyone who came out and participated in support of FTBA’s TransPAC. Your support is what allows us to continue to advocate for our members and the transportation industry. We hope to see all of you at Streamsong in April 2023 for our next tournament!

Obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) “Highway Dashboard: A 50-State Guide to the Benefits of Federal Investment” displays information on more than 639 Florida projects that moved forward in FY 2018. Based on Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) data, the dashboard provides the same information for all states.

The top five projects receiving federal funding in the state during 2018 included:

SR 968/SW 1ST STREET AT MIAMI RIVER (BRIDGE #870660);BRIDGE REPLACEMENT;CONSTRUCTION

I-75 AT SR 70 INTERCHANGE - ADD LANES;CONSTRUCTION

ADVANCED TRANSPORTATION AND CONGESTION MANAGEMENT TECH DEPLOYMENT PROGRAM (ATCMTD):CONNECTING THE EAST ORLANDO COMMUNITIES PROJECT; PED/SAFE GREENWAY

SR15(US1) FROM: ALLIGATOR CREEK TO: BEGINNING OF C&G;RESURFACING;CONSTRUCTION

SR 414 (MAITLAND BLVD) FROM SR 400 (I-4) TO CR 427 (MAITLAND AVE); ADD LANES & REHABILITATE PVMNT; CONSTRUCTION

“This dashboard helps shift the conversation from how much each state gets to specific outcomes and benefits,” ARTBA President Dave Bauer says. “Such transparency and accountability will help residents better understand the value they are getting from infrastructure investments.”

The current federal FAST Act surface transportation law expires September 30. As Congress continues working on a new long-term bill, the dashboard will help members of Congress and their staffs to learn more about projects and how federal funds are being utilized in their respective states, ARTBA says.

“The dashboard spotlights the important role the federal highway program plays in our state,” says Ananth Prasad, President of the Florida Transportation Builders' Association (FTBA). “Passage of a long-term bill by Congress with increased investment is the right medicine to significantly boost our economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In FY 2018, 29 percent of projects costs were for reconstruction or repair work on existing highways, according to the ARTBA analysis. Planning, design and construction engineering (21 percent of funds), added capacity (15 percent) and new construction (14 percent), are among 12 ways the state spent its transportation dollars.

Compiled by ARTBA Chief Economist Dr. Alison Premo Black, the ARTBA Highway Dashboard features the top projects dating back to 1950. This data is submitted by states as part of FHWA’s Fiscal Management Information System (FMIS).

The Florida Transportation Builders' Association (FTBA) is the voice for the road and bridge building industry in the State of Florida. Established in 1933, FTBA consists of individuals and private sector firms actively engaged in the construction of transportation systems or in the furnishing materials, equipment or other services for such construction.

Established in 1902 and with more than 8,000 public and private sector members, the Washington, D.C.-based ARTBA advocates for strong investment in transportation infrastructure to meet the public and business community demand for safe and efficient travel.

FTBA's New YourMembership Database

Our new YourMembership database launched this week! Each member company and any company employees who previously held an account with us should have received an email with their new log-in credentials. If you did not get that information, please let us know and we will reset your credentials for you. There are a few important things to know or remember when using our new system:

Each member company will have their own company profile/account log-in. Anyone within the company can manage the information, as long as they have the company's credentials. Who you have administer your account is up to you!

The main company's account has a link that can be provided to employees to directly link them to the company's master account.

Employees must be linked to the master account in order to qualify for the member rates for various registrations.

The main company's account can add or remove employees.

The main company's account has access to all employees' profiles and can register each individual if needed.

The main company's account can set up "secondary locations" for different locations or branches around the state. Those branches can then manage their own employee accounts.

Each person will have their own individual account with individual login credentials. This personal account is how each person will register for events or interact/connect while in the database. If you manage your company's master account you will have two sets of credentials - one for your company account and one for your personal account

A brief video was created to explain the initial process for adding or connecting employees to the master account. You can view that video here. Please contact Stacy Heidel (SHeidel@ftba.com) if you have any questions or need assistance during this process. Once the initial set-up process is complete we are confident that our members will enjoy the added benefits this new system offers!
